A role being open is not a hire, a posted salary range is not an offer, and a tool named in a job description is not proof it runs in production. The methodology explains how each number is made and what it cannot tell you.

About Neuronify, in one paragraph
Neuronify is a publication that measures the New York AI economy. It reads the job boards of the city’s AI companies every morning to track who is hiring, for what, and at what posted pay, and it runs a vetted network that matches companies with AI engineers and consultancies.
The longer version
Neuronify measures the New York AI economy from primary data. Every morning it reads the public job boards of the city’s AI companies and publishes what it finds: the NYC AI Hiring Index, posted pay by function and level, the skills and tools employers name, and the NYC AI 100, an annual list of the city’s AI companies. Its methods, corrections, and conflicts of interest are published in full. Alongside the publication, Neuronify runs a vetted network that matches companies with AI engineers, fractional leaders, and consultancies. It was founded by Vik Chadha and Rob May, who previously co-founded Backupify.

How current are the figures?
The figures on this page are recomputed from the latest daily reading of the job boards, and each shows its date. For a story, cite the date alongside the number: these series move every day, and a figure without its date cannot be checked later.
What does the data cover, and what does it not?
It covers the New York AI companies on the NYC AI 100 and the AI in NYC Show roster that post roles through Greenhouse, Ashby, or Lever. It is venture-backed and startup-weighted. It does not cover the banks, insurers, hospitals, and law firms that also hire heavily for AI in New York, and it should be described as “the New York AI companies Neuronify tracks,” not as the whole market. The methodology page sets out every limit.
Can you provide a cut of the data that is not published here?
Often, yes: a single sector, a longer comparison, a specific job title, or a breakdown by company. Tell us what you need and your deadline through the contact page. We would rather supply the right number than have one approximated from a chart.
